The Safe Place

The Safe Place

The Safe Place

There is such a safe place with Christ Jesus.

His feathered wings (psalm 91) are the best shelter from storms I’ve ever known.

He is the Master of every one of the tears I’ve cried. Each one He has known intimately.

He’s known the hidden pains that go unseen by public eyes and assures me of His goodness in every single trial.

There is such peace in knowing my defender is always on duty so that I can merely rest.

Trust is always challenged in this walk. Or perhaps stretched a bit, when storms brew.

The human heart fears God might abandon him. Yet, time always tells that He never did.

My worrying heart can go to sleep knowing He is tending to all mine and His business. While I clock out, He never does.

He is such a refuge from the rain

Acknowledging every single pain

And when the burden gets too hard

He ministers to my seeping scars.

I know He holds me deeply tight

Throughout the day; throughout the night

And surely He does always see

Every weapon Hell has released.

But, oh, I’m safe in His kind arms

From every arrow sent to harm

And when Hell knocks upon my door

Jesus stands guard forevermore.
