There must be a shift in the hearts of born again believers, today. The shift is a going back to a way that Christ showed us in His Word.
Please hear me:
“Significant is the one.”
We clamor for crowds and suggest success is in numbers. It was never so with Christ Jesus.
He poured into 12. While there were many other disciples, He taught intimately these 12 and some others that followed closely.
What might happen if we would spend our lives pouring into 12 instead of collecting crowds that remain untouched by Christ, and really, us.
The “in again, out again,” leaves many unhealed, still bound, and left wanting.
What is it in our American way that deems that the significance is in numbers?
Some need to sit with you for hours, or even years, to drink from the well of Jesus in you. They need to hear your failures and how Christ came for that rescue. They need to know you’ll pick up the phone in crises and wade through a “Hell Storm” with them.
They need to be prayed over again and again until every demonic hold is broken and tears are gently bottled and wiped.
May we consider the last time we walked into the pain of others as Christ did? Unraveling lies of the enemy. Unhinging prison doors that keep them bound. Calling for healing oil to pour into a deep soul wound that keeps wrestling.
Jesus teaches of the one lost sheep. Ezekiel speaks of the shepherds that never bind the broken. The mercy of God visits prisoners and tends to widows. Then…and now.
He goes out of his way to Samaria to let a husband-less woman know He would be her bridegroom, and stops to address a bleeding woman for her great faith for healing. He halts at the sound of a man calling His name while others are in such a hurry.
Significant is the one.
The Jesus in us must be able to show clearly the sight of Christ as He rests His gaze on a wanting heart.
Do my eyes, my heart, and my actions say, “Jesus sees YOU?”
Oh, I pray so.
For after all these years I am still learning the beautiful truth that significant is the one.
