There are times when you will feel like giving up..folding your tent..and heading home.
Fight this urge on your knees..for in this place His power rushes in to tend your need. The darkness you encounter, the inadequacies, the taunting from the enemy of your soul…will prevail should you avoid the position before our Father’s throne.
At times I can sit quietly just letting Him love on me when I am empty of words. Other times we prepare battle strategies to take the land He has assigned already. Either way the position is the same and so is the place. It must be a place of drawing near…
He is powerful- yet kind. Just- yet merciful. Holy- Yet longsuffering. Run to Him…
I am forever indebted
To the beauty of His ways
For He is a noble treasure
With hidden jewels along the way.
Not so it’s hard to find them
But that we would dare to seek
For His love endures forever
A gentle and very kind King.
My heart it swells with adoration
That He would even come to me
He rushes quick to sit
Just as I bend my knees
His mercy it’s indescribable
For He knows my inner thoughts
So much that needs a cleansing
Yet each sin already bought.
His hand it rules with power
But stays it He does so long
Even when His enemies
Proudly mock and taunt
But see He still dearly loves them
And patiently weeps and waits
Desiring their hearts to soften
And embrace His loving grace.
Where would I be Lord without thee?
The darkness I’m sure would prevail
But for your light that keeps shining
During onslaughts sent from hell
Your sweetness in the midst of glory
Humbles me again and again
Gives me strength to press forward
When I am close to giving in.

He “keeps” us as we learn to endure. He holds us to breathe strength. He whispers to help us stand again. He is relentlessly for us. While the journey is blissful at times and full of grandeur as He reveals His character, nature, holiness, love, and power…there is also a costly perfume that will submerge through each work birthed by His Spirit. The deeper we go…the greater the cost…yet it pales in comparison to His costly cup on our behalf.
